It is also much better at dissipating heat over its surface, which makes it more comfortable to walk barefoot during hot summer days. PVC/vinyl decking also beats capped composite decking when it comes to mold, mildew, and scratch resistance.

How Much Does Vinyl Decking Cost?

Vinyl decking is similar in price to composite decking and runs somewhere between $7 and $13 per square foot for materials alone. Depending on the manufacturer, as well as your color and texture preferences, PVC decking can be more expensive than capped composite. However, the total cost of ownership over a 20-year period is at least $5,000 to $8,000 cheaper for PVC and capped composite than it is for pressure-treated wood.
